Review Management
Google Review Management for Trades and Service Businesses
Google review management, run the way Google’s own rules require. Every customer gets asked, every review gets a reply you approve, and nobody gets filtered out for being unhappy.
Most businesses are not short of happy customers. They are short of the habit of asking, at the moment the customer is most willing to say yes. That habit is what we run for you, and it is the fastest thing we do: the first reviews usually land within a fortnight of switching it on.
Reviews decide who gets called
When someone searches for a trade near them, Google shows three businesses in the map result above everything else. In searches we ran this summer across London and Bristol trade services, the businesses holding those three places had somewhere between roughly 36 and 169 reviews depending on the trade. That is the bar in a real market, and it is reachable for any business that asks consistently.
Volume also protects you. On a profile with ten reviews, a single one-star drops a perfect score to about 4.6 and the customer sees it immediately. On a profile with a hundred, the same review barely moves the number. Businesses agonising over one bad review usually have a review-count problem, and the fix is more genuine reviews rather than a fight with the reviewer.
Perfection is not the goal either. Research from Northwestern University’s Spiegel Research Center found buying is most likely when ratings sit between 4.2 and 4.7, because a flawless score across hundreds of reviews reads as too good to be true. A 4.8 built on 150 reviews beats a 5.0 built on nine.
What we run for you
Four things, running quietly in the background, with your approval on anything that becomes public.
Every completed job
A request goes out the day the work finishes
The ask lands while the customer is still pleased and the detail is fresh, with a direct link that takes one tap. Not a reminder for you to chase later, and not a request that asks them to go and find you on Google.
Your back book
Past customers, worked through at a safe pace
Everyone you served before you started asking is a review that was never requested. We work through that list gradually, because forty reviews arriving in a fortnight looks like purchased reviews to Google even when every one is genuine.
Every review
A reply drafted for you, published only once you approve it
You get a draft that thanks them by name and answers the specific thing they raised. Nothing reaches your public profile until you have read it and pressed approve. Poor reviews are flagged to you first so you can respond the same day.
Every month
What actually changed, in plain numbers
Your review count, your average rating, how many reviews you replied to, and how quickly. The same dashboard as the rest of your reporting, so it sits alongside how you are being found.
Three things we will not do
Plenty of review tools will do all three. They are the reason UK businesses lose their Google Business Profile, and the rules tightened sharply in 2025.
We will not filter who gets asked
Sending happy customers to Google while quietly routing unhappy ones to a private form is called review gating. Google prohibits it, and since April 2025 the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act makes misleading review practices a banned practice in the UK, enforceable by the CMA. We ask everyone, the same way, with the same link.
We will not buy, sell or invent reviews
Fake reviews are illegal under the same Act. In January 2025 Google gave the CMA formal undertakings to detect them, sanction repeat offenders, and put warning banners on the profiles of UK businesses caught using them. A suspended Business Profile costs far more than the reviews were ever worth.
We will not promise to delete a bad review
Nobody can. Google removes a review only when it breaks their content rules, for example a review from someone who was never a customer. We will report those for you and answer the rest properly, which is what future customers actually read.
How it starts
- Week one
We connect your Google Business Profile
You approve the connection with your own Google account. We pull your review history as a dated starting point, so every number after that is measured against where you actually began.
- Week one
We capture how you sound
Ten minutes on the kickoff call: how formal you are, how you refer to yourself, your sign off, and anything you would never say. Every reply is drafted against that.
- From week two
Requests and replies run
Past customers are worked through at a steady pace, new jobs trigger a request as they complete, and replies arrive for your approval. Your time in this is the approvals, and that is the point.
Questions owners ask first
- Do you guarantee a certain number of reviews?
- No. The number depends on how many customers you serve and how many respond, and anyone promising a fixed figure is either guessing or planning to buy them. What we commit to is that every customer gets asked, promptly, with one polite reminder.
- What happens when we get a bad review?
- It is flagged to you as a priority the same day it appears, with a reply drafted that acknowledges the problem and moves the conversation offline to a named contact. We never argue in public, never blame the customer, and never offer money to have it changed.
- How quickly will we see something?
- The first reviews usually arrive within a fortnight, because the fastest source is customers you have already served. That is the main reason this is a sensible first piece of work: it either moves or it does not, and you can see which within a month.
- We already work with a marketing agency. Is that a problem?
- No. This touches your Google Business Profile and your completed jobs, nothing else, so it sits beside whatever else you have running. We are happy to keep it that way for as long as it suits you.
- Does this work alongside our existing software?
- Usually. Requests can be triggered from your job records or entered as completed jobs, so it fits how you already work rather than asking you to run a second system.
- Who writes the replies?
- They are drafted for you in your voice, using a short profile we build on the kickoff call covering how you refer to yourself, your sign off, and anything you would never say. You approve, edit or skip every one before it publishes.
We answer plenty more in the Google review management FAQs and the fake reviews and UK law FAQs.
A good place to start with us
This is a standalone service. You do not need a new website, you do not need to move your marketing, and you do not need to stop working with anyone else. If your Google Business Profile is verified and you finish jobs for customers, that is the whole requirement.
It is also the quickest way to find out whether we are any good. Search work is worth doing, but it is slow to prove itself, and asking someone to take a six month view on trust alone is a lot. Reviews show up in weeks and the count either goes up or it does not. Plenty of clients start here for exactly that reason, and some never do anything else, which is a perfectly good outcome.
If it does go well and you want to look wider, SEO Growth and Web Build and Care are there, and reviews feed both. That is a conversation for later, not a condition of starting.
Get the reviews your work has already earned
A short call, no pitch deck. We will look at your profile, tell you what your competitors are holding, and be straight about whether this is the thing worth doing first. Nothing else needs to change for you to start.
