Frequently asked questions
- Is being in the Knowledge Graph the same as having a knowledge panel?
- No, and this tool is careful about the difference. The Knowledge Graph is Google's entity database; a knowledge panel is the box Google chooses to show in search for some entities. We report what Google actually shows for the name and what entity data exists, and never claim a panel exists purely from a database match.
- Why does it show a result for a name that isn't mine?
- Common names can match a different, better-known business or person. That's why we show you exactly which entity Google and Wikidata matched, so you can confirm it's you. Adding a sector or town in the optional field helps us match the right one.
- My business has a Google panel but the tool says not recognised — why?
- Many local-business panels come from Google Business Profile, and whether a panel shows can vary by location and over time. This check reflects what Google returns for a plain name search in the UK at that moment, so a Business Profile panel may not always appear here. Treat a low score as a prompt to strengthen your entity signals, not a verdict.
- How do I actually get a knowledge panel?
- Panels follow strong, corroborated entity signals: a Wikidata item, consistent structured data and sameAs links on your own site, a complete Google Business Profile, and coverage across authoritative sources. The action plan lists the steps in priority order, and we build all of this as part of our entity work — book a call to have it handled for you.
