Agency comparison

Local SEO agencies compared: SEO Pages, ClickSlice, Breakline, Ignite SEO, First Place SEO and Rapid SEO

The short answer

Of the six local SEO agencies compared here, SEO Pages is the best fit for a UK trade or local service business that wants its Google profile, customer review requests, directory listings and new pages on one published monthly plan that you can cancel online at any time. Breakline suits buying a plan online across more services, First Place SEO puts more articles and new pages into each plan, ClickSlice and Ignite SEO suit larger bespoke or ecommerce campaigns, and Rapid SEO is a small founder-run service.

This is our page, so read it knowing that. Every fact about the other five agencies is quoted from their own websites, checked on , with a numbered link to the page it came from. Prices change, so check the source before you sign anything.

How we compared six local SEO agencies

These are the five agencies we measure ourselves against when we test what ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Perplexity recommend to a UK business looking for local SEO help. This page puts what each one publishes side by side, so you can compare them on the facts.

What they publish, quoted

Every fact about another agency is copied word for word from its own website and linked to the page it came from. Where a site says nothing, the table says so. We did not fill gaps from review sites, forums or memory.

The same rows for everyone

Prices, contract and notice, setup fees, what the monthly work includes, reporting, promises and what you keep if you leave. The rows a business owner asks about before signing.

Our own column follows the same rule

Every line about SEO Pages links to our own page that says it, and our prices come from the same data as our plans page. Our limits are listed first, before anyone else’s.

SEO Pages vs ClickSlice, Breakline, Ignite SEO, First Place SEO and Rapid SEO

Words in quotation marks are copied from the agency’s own site. The number after each one links to its source at the foot of the page. On a phone, the table scrolls sideways.

The limits on both sides

Every agency has things it does not do, terms that bind you, or claims you cannot check from the outside. Ours first.

SEO Pages: our limits

  • Incorporated 2022 and trading as SEO Pages since 2026, so the name has a short public track record[3]
  • Growth and Area Leader need a website. Off WordPress, you paste each month's pages in yourself from a pack, and we check they went live[1]
  • Local does no work on your website[1]
  • Plans run by email, which keeps the price where it is.[1]
  • Link building is on Area Leader only[1]
  • The monthly plans are new, so none of our published results comes from a plan client yet; they come from website builds[7]
  • Done-with-you programmes need 30 days' written notice to end[2]

ClickSlice

  • ClickSlice shall have the right to bill for work up until the next monthly cycle[14]
  • The worked example in their policy: the total invoice for the month of termination will be £3,000 (full month) + £1,500 (notice period) = £4,500.[14]
  • we cannot guarantee specific rankings or outcomes.[14]
  • setting up a standing order at the start of the campaign is a compulsory part of our onboarding process.[14]

Breakline

  • All fees are non‑refundable once paid, except under the narrow circumstance in clause 2 below.[28]
  • The refund promise needs: you did not pause or cancel the plan during the 90‑day window[28]
  • third‑party costs are extra unless stated in the Order Form[27]
  • We can update recurring fees on 30 days’ notice; you may cancel before the change takes effect.[27]
  • On timing, their prices page says: Most clients begin to notice a meaningful increase in traffic and inbound enquiries around month nine.[23]
  • while their home page says: Most clients see initial improvements within 30-60 days[21]

Ignite SEO

  • we will continue to provide the Services and you will continue to pay the fees during any period of notice[34]
  • The specific deliverables included in your engagement are defined in your individual service agreement.[34]
  • Our hourly rate you will be billed at for additional charges is £75 +VAT.[34]
  • Payment is to be made via GoCardless.[34]
  • you agree that no refunds or discounts will be given for any negative impact on the part of any search engine.[34]

First Place SEO

  • Their terms sit in the signed agreement; the site has no terms page: The final proposal and service agreement set out the campaign scope, fees, responsibilities and reporting.[41]
  • We take one client per trade in each area[47]
  • Link placements are paid on top: A £200 placement costs you £220.[46]
  • Google profile management and review support start at: Growth SEO[42]

Rapid SEO

  • Keywords optimised, by tier: Up to 10 Keyword Phrases Optimised, Up to 20 Keyword Phrases Optimised, Up to 40 Keyword Phrases Optimised[52]
  • Two SEO specialists. One goal: your rankings.[52]
  • One website per client: “Client” URL (1 per Customer)[55]
  • there is no cancellation period offered during the period stated under point 8[55]
  • Unnatural links and penalty recovery service if ever required during contract term will be at an additional fee.[55]

Which local SEO agency should you pick?

Our reading of the facts above. Shortlist the two whose description sounds most like your business, then ask each one to put three things in writing: the notice period, what arrives each month, and what you keep if you leave.

SEO Pages

Pick it if you run a UK trade or local service business and want one monthly plan that runs your Google profile, asks your customers for reviews, keeps your directory listings right and adds pages for the jobs and areas you want, with the price on the page and no contract.

Look elsewhere if you want a long public track record, link building on every plan, regular calls on a self-serve plan, or an ecommerce campaign.

seopages.co.uk

ClickSlice

Pick it if you run an ecommerce brand or a larger business with the budget for a bespoke campaign, and you want one London team for search, links, paid ads and websites.

Look elsewhere if you want a published monthly price for local work, or a simple exit: their policy asks for written notice and bills for the notice period, and their refund wording differs between pages.

clickslice.co.uk

Breakline

Pick it if you run an established service business, want to buy a published plan online without a sales call, and want a larger operation that also sells link building and technical audits as plans of their own.

Look elsewhere if you want trade pages and trade case studies (their trade content is on the blog), review requests sent to your customers, or a website build.

breaklineagency.com

Ignite SEO

Pick it if you run a professional firm, an ecommerce shop or a software business and want a London search specialist with a dashboard from day one and quarterly reviews with a project manager.

Look elsewhere if you want a trade specialist, a price list, or a quick way out: their terms set a no-cancellation period and then a long notice period, and prices appear only in FAQ answers.

igniteseo.co.uk

First Place SEO

Pick it if you are a trade or service business that wants more articles and new pages each month than the entry plans elsewhere here, and the founder on your first call.

Look elsewhere if you want written terms to read before you sign (the site has no terms page), a short notice period, or a live dashboard rather than Search Console data.

firstplaceseo.co.uk

Rapid SEO

Pick it if you want a small, founder-run London service with published prices, your website left on your own hosting, and Google Ads managed by the same people.

Look elsewhere if you need a website built, or want the option to leave in the first months: their terms set an initial period with no cancellation.

How to switch SEO agency, step by step

The same steps work whichever agency you are leaving and whichever you are joining, including us.

  1. 1

Read your notice terms before anything else

Find the minimum term, the notice period and whether notice has to be in writing. The terms each agency publishes are quoted below. A signed proposal or order form can override a website’s terms, so check yours as well.

  2. 2

Make sure you own your accounts

You should be the owner of your Google Business Profile, Google Search Console, Google Analytics, your domain name, your hosting and any Google Ads account. If the agency owns any of them, ask for ownership to be passed to you while the relationship is still friendly.

  3. 3

Ask for what you paid for

A list of every page and post written for you, the directory listings created with their logins, the links built, and your tracking history. Ask in writing and give a date.

  4. 4

    Record where you stand today

Note where you come up for your main jobs and areas, your review count and your Search Console clicks before the handover. Without a starting point, nobody can show you what changed.

  5. 5

Give notice in writing, lined up with a paid period

Time the end date to the end of a period you have already paid for, so you are not paying two agencies for the same month.

  6. 6

Keep the website live and every address working

If the old agency hosts your website, move it before the end date. If any page address changes, point each old address at its new one, one to one, so the pages Google already shows keep their place. We work the same way: our work adds to the pages that already rank and leaves them in place.

  7. 7

    Remove the old agency’s access

Once the handover is done, take them off your Google profile’s people list, your Search Console users, your website logins and any ad accounts.

  8. 8

    Start with the new agency

With us it is about twenty minutes in the first week: connect your Google profile with your own login, confirm the jobs you want more of and the areas you cover, and connect your website if your plan includes pages. Our setup list is finished within 30 days of your part, or we refund the month.

What each agency publishes about notice and leaving

SEO Pages

  • Everything that is yours stays yours: the pages on your website, your directory listings and your Google profile. We delete the logins you gave us, and nothing is taken down.[1]
  • It stops at the end of the month you have paid for.[1]

ClickSlice

  • Either party may terminate the working relationship by giving 30 days written notice to the other of such termination.[14]
  • when your final payment has cleared, copyright will be automatically assigned[14]
  • Our agency does not offer refunds for any services rendered.[14]

Breakline

  • termination will take effect at the end of the current paid month (for monthly plans) or as stated in the Order Form[27]
  • Upon full payment, we assign to you the copyright in bespoke content we create for you[27]
  • Cancelling or pausing a plan does not create a right to a refund for the current or prior periods.[28]

Ignite SEO

  • After the mandatory no-cancellation term, the Client can request to cancel the project during the “3-month review meeting”.[34]
  • either Party has the right to terminate the Contract by giving a minimum of 3 month’s written notice to the other Party[34]
  • we will continue to provide the Services and you will continue to pay the fees during any period of notice[34]

First Place SEO

  • The one condition is 60 days notice to end a plan, which applies to both of us[39]
  • Your website is yours, and we do not lock you into a platform you cannot take it away from.[49]
  • Your Google Ads account stays in your business name[51]

Rapid SEO

  • After the initial 3 months, a rolling monthly contract will be in place until 30 days written notice is provided by “Client” to “Company” via email[55]
  • If you want to leave, you leave, and you take everything with you because it was always yours.[57]
  • Your Google Ads account belongs to you.[58]

Questions people ask

Which local SEO agencies publish their prices?
Breakline, First Place SEO, Rapid SEO and SEO Pages publish prices for their main monthly plans. ClickSlice publishes a starting price and its link building packages and quotes everything else. Ignite SEO has no price page, but the answers in its FAQ give starting prices. Every published figure is quoted in the table with a link to the page it came from.
Which local SEO agency is the cheapest?
By headline price, Breakline’s smallest Local SEO plan is the lowest monthly figure for search work in the table. It covers your Google profile and directory citations, not your website. Before comparing the numbers, compare what each price includes and how much notice you have to give.
Do any of these agencies guarantee rankings?
No. All six say in their own terms or plan pages that a position on Google cannot be promised, and we say the same. Read any money-back or results promise on a sales page against the written terms: ClickSlice’s trades page offers money back if results do not come while its fulfilment policy says it gives no refunds, and Ignite SEO’s terms say rankings are not guaranteed while one of its sales pages promises more visitors within weeks.
Can I leave an SEO agency before my contract ends?
Only on the terms you agreed. The website terms quoted on this page are the starting point, but a signed proposal or order form can change them, so read both. Give notice in writing, keep a copy, and line the end date up with the end of a period you have already paid for.
Who should own my Google Business Profile?
You should. A profile can have several owners and managers but only one primary owner, and that should be you, not your agency. Check the people and access settings on your profile before you give notice, and ask for ownership to be passed to you if it is not.
Why does SEO Pages publish a comparison with other agencies?
Because buyers compare agencies anyway, and many of the best-agency lists they find are written by an agency that ranks itself first without showing its working. This one is ours too, so we say so at the top, quote the other five instead of describing them, link every fact to its source and list our own limits first.
