Can you provide some examples of how to respond to positive reviews?
Yes. A good reply thanks the person by name, mentions the actual job and adds one human detail, for example: 'Thanks Sarah, glad the new boiler kept the house warm through the cold snap. Good luck with the kitchen, and you know where we are if you need us.' Two or three sentences is plenty, and no two replies should read the same.

For a short review with no detail, such as 'Great job, would recommend', keep the reply short and add one thing you remember: 'Thanks Mike, it was a tidy job to do. Hope the new outside tap survives the winter.' You do not need to write more than the customer did.
For a detailed review that names a member of your team, pass the thanks on: 'Thank you Priya, I have shown this to Dan and it made his week. Rewiring with two small children at home is never easy, so we are glad it went smoothly.' Customers like seeing that a person read their words, and staff like being named.
For a repeat customer: 'Thanks again Linda, that is four jobs now since the bathroom. Always good to work for you.' For a review that mentions a problem you put right: 'Thanks Tom, and sorry again the first part was faulty. Glad we could get back out the next morning and finish it.' Owning the hiccup in a positive reply builds more trust than skipping over it.
Some things to leave out. Do not stuff replies with town names and service keywords; customers notice, and Google's guidance only says helpful replies help you stand out, not that keyword-heavy ones help you rank. Keep sales pitches and offers out. And do not repeat the same line under every review: half the consumers in BrightLocal's 2026 survey said generic replies put them off a business.
If writing fresh replies feels like a chore, keep three or four starting points of your own and change the details every time. The examples above take under a minute each once you have the job in front of you.
