FAQs / Online Reputation

How much does online reputation management cost?

It ranges from a few hundred pounds a month for monitoring and review management up to several thousand a month for campaigns that push negative search results down the page. One-off removals are usually quoted per item, and anything involving lawyers is priced separately. The price follows the severity of the problem more than the size of the business.

Reputation work is priced by what needs doing, and there are three tiers. Maintenance, which means monitoring your name, requesting and replying to reviews and keeping profiles accurate, sits at the low end and suits most small businesses. Repair, which means responding to a specific problem such as a run of bad reviews or an unfair article, costs more because it is hands-on work over several months. Suppression, which means building and promoting enough content to outrank a damaging result, is the expensive end because it takes months of publishing and link building.

Removal is different again. Reporting policy violations to Google or a review platform is free and something you can do yourself. Where content needs a legal route, such as a defamation claim, you are paying for solicitors, not marketing, and the cost depends on the case.

Be wary of two things. Guarantees to remove any result, which nobody can honestly offer because the platforms decide, not the agency. And very cheap suppression, which usually means low-quality content and links that Google either ignores or penalises.

The honest way to buy it is to start with an audit. Once you know exactly what appears for your name, you know which tier you need, and often the answer is the cheapest one.
