Frequently asked questions
- Why does my search snippet matter?
- Your title and meta description are your advert in Google's results. A clear, well-sized snippet gets more clicks — even at the same ranking position. This tool shows exactly how yours looks and flags anything that gets cut off.
- What are the ideal lengths?
- Aim for a title around 50–60 characters and a meta description around 120–155 characters. Longer and Google truncates them; much shorter and you're wasting space you could use to win the click.
- Does Google always use my meta description?
- Not always — Google sometimes generates its own snippet from your page. But a strong, relevant meta description is used most of the time and is well worth getting right.
- Can you write these for me?
- Yes. Compelling titles and meta descriptions across every page are part of our SEO programmes. Use this tool to spot the problems, then book a call to have them fixed at scale.
