Frequently asked questions
- Why not just send people to my Google listing?
- Because most of them will not finish. Sending someone to your listing means they have to find the reviews section, then find the write button, then sign in. A direct review link opens the review box straight away. Every extra tap loses people who genuinely meant to leave you one.
- Is it against Google's rules to ask for reviews?
- No. Asking every customer is fine and encouraged. What breaks the rules is offering anything in return, or asking only the customers you think will say something nice. Ask everyone, offer nothing, and you are on the right side of it.
- What do I do with the QR code?
- Print it on invoices, job sheets, business cards, a sticker in the van, or a card you hand over when you finish. The best moment to ask is when the work is done and the customer is pleased, and a code they can scan there and then beats an email they read three days later.
- My business does not come up. What now?
- That usually means the profile is not verified yet, or the name on Google is different from the name you trade under. Search the exact name shown on your Google listing. If there is no listing at all, that is the thing to fix first, and it is free to do.
- Can I use this if I have more than one location?
- Yes. Each location has its own profile and its own review link, so run it once per location and print a different code for each. Sending customers to the wrong branch is a common and avoidable way to lose a review.
