FAQs / Google Business Profile
Is there another way to verify Google business?
Possibly. Google can offer a recorded video, a live video call, a phone call or text, email, a postcard, or instant verification if you have already verified your website in Google Search Console. Google decides which methods each business sees, and if more than one is shown you can switch to another.

Google lists several verification methods, but no business sees all of them. The options shown depend on your business type, what is already public about it, your region and sometimes the time of day. Google states that the methods are decided automatically and cannot be changed on request.
Video recording is the one most small businesses see now. You film a short, continuous clip on your phone through the Business Profile app or Google Maps, showing where you are, that the business is real, and that you run it. A live video call is similar but with a Google representative watching, and it is only offered during your local business hours.
Phone, text and email methods send a code to the number or address on file. Postcards, which used to be the standard, still exist for some businesses but are offered far less often. If you have already verified your website in Google Search Console and it matches the profile, Google may verify you instantly. Businesses with many locations can apply for bulk verification instead of verifying each one.
If the method you were offered keeps failing, check whether a different one is listed in the verification screen and try that. If none works, contact support through the Help Centre. Do not create a second profile to get round it. Duplicates break Google's guidelines and usually make things worse.
