Web Build & Care

Law Firm Website Design

Someone looking for a solicitor is deciding whether to trust you with a house purchase, a dismissal or a death in the family. A law firm website has to answer the transparency rules, prove the person they will actually speak to is real, and make getting in touch feel safe.

What usually goes wrong

  • The transparency information the SRA requires is missing, or buried where a prospective client will never find it.
  • Practice areas are one page listing twelve services, so nothing ranks and nobody feels understood.
  • Solicitor profiles are a name and a job title with no qualifications, no cases and no photo.
  • The only way to make contact is a generic form that gives no sense of what happens next.
  • The site says the firm is approachable and results driven, which every competitor also says.
  • The SRA digital badge and complaints procedure are nowhere to be seen.

What we build instead

  • A transparency section that meets the SRA rules for the work it applies to, written so a client can actually follow it.
  • One page per practice area, written for the person with that specific problem rather than a list of everything you do.
  • Solicitor profiles with qualifications, practice history, regulator details and a photograph.
  • An enquiry route that tells the client who reads it, how fast you reply and what happens after that.
  • The SRA digital badge and complaints procedure where a regulator and a client both expect them.
  • Structured data marking the firm, its people and its locations so search engines and AI assistants describe you correctly.

Questions law firms ask us

Do you work with small firms or only large ones?
Mostly smaller firms and sole practitioners, where the site has to do work that a business development team would otherwise do. The transparency requirements are the same whatever the size, and small firms usually get less help meeting them.
How much does it cost?
It depends on how many practice areas and fee earners you need pages for. We give you a fixed, itemised quote after a short call, so you know the number before anything starts.
Will you write the legal content?
We write the structure and the plain English, then you check it. We will not publish a claim about the law that a fee earner has not approved, and we will not put words in a solicitor's profile that they did not agree to.
Can you make sure we stay compliant with the transparency rules?
We build the section correctly and show you exactly which pages it lives on. Keeping the figures current is yours, because they change when your pricing does, and we make those pages editable without a developer.
We already rank for our firm name. Why do we need more?
Ranking for your own name means people who already know you can find you. It brings in nothing new. The work is in the practice area searches, where someone is describing a problem rather than looking for you.

More questions we get from law firms

What do the SRA transparency rules require on a law firm website?
If your firm does certain work for individuals or small businesses, you have to publish price and service information for it. That covers residential conveyancing, probate for uncontested estates, employment tribunal claims for unfair or wrongful dismissal, immigration excluding asylum, licensing applications for business premises, summary only motoring offences and debt recovery up to a set value. You also have to display the SRA digital badge and publish your complaints procedure.
Do we have to publish our fees?
For the areas the transparency rules cover, yes. You need the total cost or a realistic basis for it, what is included, likely disbursements including VAT, and typical timescales. Outside those areas you are not required to publish fees, though firms that give a clear indication tend to get better qualified enquiries.
Can law firms use client testimonials?
You can, with care. Anything you publish has to be accurate and not misleading, and you need the client's consent, which matters more when the matter was sensitive. Outcome based claims invite scrutiny, so specifics about service and communication are usually safer ground than promises about results.
How should practice areas be structured?
One page per area, each written for a person with that exact problem. Someone facing a tribunal and someone buying a flat share nothing except your letterhead. A single services page covering both matches neither search nor need, and it is the most common reason a firm's site brings in nothing.
What makes a legal enquiry form convert?
Telling people what happens next. Who reads it, how quickly you reply, whether the first conversation costs anything, and what you will need from them. A form that asks for a case summary before it explains any of that reads as a risk, especially on a matter someone has not told their family about yet.
